SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After narrowly missing an upset last weekend the Evangel men's basketball returns to the hardwood in front of the home crowd to host long-time rival Baker.
SERIES HISTORY Evangel leads the long-standing rivalry with Baker, 49-18, but look to avenge an earlier loss to the Wildcats this season in Baldwin City, Kansas. Last year the Crusaders won both meetings with Baker to increase its lead in the all-time series.
► Evangel returns to the Ashcroft Center Thursday night in a rivalry meeting with Baker. The Crusaders look to avenge an early-season loss at Baker as the second half of conference action continues.
► Junior Clark Brewington reached a career high last week with 200 points on the season and is averaging 11.8 points per game. Brewington also has 110 three-pointers for his career ranking 22nd all-time at Evangel.
► Freshman Cade Coffman crossed 200 points and 100 rebounds for the season last Saturday with a season-high 30 points. Coffman is averaging 12.3 points per game and also ranks 16th in the Heart in rebounding as he is the only freshman in the top 20.
► Sophomore transfer Chris Stocks has helped make an immediate impact on the Crusaders, scoring in double figures each game since his arrival at semester. Stocks enters Thursday at 15.8 points per game and is an 89 percent free throw shooter.
LOOKING AHEAD Evangel closes its homestand on Saturday against Clarke University. Tipoff from the Ashcroft Center is scheduled for 2 p.m.
