SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel women's basketball team returns home on Saturday to take on Graceland with hopes of snapping their current skid.
SERIES HISTORY Evangel leads the all-time series with the Yellowjackets 51-13, but Graceland won the only meeting between the two last season, 65-63.
► Evangel comes back home to play Graceland and try to snap a four-game losing streak in the HEART.
► Evangel received votes in the most recent NAIA poll. This is the first time the Crusaders have received votes since the preseason poll for the 2011-2012 season.
► Owning the glass has helped Evangel with 44.25 boards per game, which is good for third in the league. The Cursaders are especially good on the offensive glass with an average of 18.80 per game. Lexie Vaught ranks number 21 in Division I in Offensive Rebounds with 3.43 per game, while Sydnee Garrett ranks number 46 with 2.75 per game.
► A balanced scoring attack has helped Evangel to third in the conference in scoring offense with an average of 73.25 ppg. Led by 14.8 ppg from Vaught and 10.3 from Garrett, Brianna Vogts is close behind at 10.06 ppg, Kylee Moore (8.8 ppg), and Mackenzie Farmer (8.2 ppg) make the Crusaders tough to guard.
► Sydnee Garrett, in only her second year on the team, is closing in on her 750th career point.
Evangel has a break until next Saturday, Jan. 19, when they take on No.20 William Penn in the Ashcroft Center. Tipoff is scheduled for noon.
