Evangel again jumped out to an early lead in the first inning before Lincoln scored two in the third and two more runs in the fifth inning to build a 4-2 lead. However, the Crusaders clawed back with two in the bottom of the sixth inning to set up Yates walk-off home run.

Rafael Rodriguez went 2 for 3, while Grant Miller found the gap for a 2-RBI double in the first inning. Dalton Cook also doubled as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning to score one of the Crusader runs.

Levi Loughridge was also solid on the mound as he went 4.2 innings and allowed just four hits. However, three of the runs were earned and charged to Loughridge who struck out seven batters and walked just two.
