FAYETTE, Mo. – Evangel finished up their four game series with Central Methodist on Monday (Mar. 21). CMU continued their offensive streak in both games, as Evangel was swept, 15-1 and 5-1, on Monday.
HIGHLIGHTS

The Valor once again fell to the high powered CMU offense in game one, 15-1.

Zach Johnston (2-1) recorded the loss in game one on Monday.

Austin Dill (4-3) started game two, but recorded the loss after CMU used a big third inning to grab a lead they kept to the end, 5-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Central Methodist nearly shut out Evangel in game one as they used the second inning to grab a 7-0 lead.

The Eagles extended their lead to 15-0 by the end of the sixth inning in game one.

Evangel put a run on the board in the top of the seventh after Athanie Leeviraphan singled, scoring Stephen Belcher who had previously gotten on base from a single. EU did not manufacture another run, falling 15-1.

In game two, CMU again scored first, hitting a solo home run.

The Valor answered CMU's solo shot with a Nathan Lamb home run of their own to tie the game at one apiece.

CMU found more offense in the third inning, scoring four runs to take a 5-1 lead.

Neither team found any offense after the third inning, as CMU completed the sweep of Evangel.
NOTABLE

Leeviraphan went 2-4 in game one, driving in the lone run of the ballgame and continuing his excellent season at the plate.

Lamb hit his first home run of the season in game two, his first of his career.
UP NEXT
Evangel will travel to Fulton, Mo., tomorrow (Mar. 22) to take on William Woods in a single nine inning matchup. First pitch is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
