PERU, Neb. – After a series victory last weekend against Benedictine, Evangel hit the road to take on Heart North foe Peru State on Friday. In game one, Evangel fell short of taking down the Bobcats, 4-2. Game two was a defensive matchup between the teams, with EU generating very little on offense, falling 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Gage Harris stole second in the bottom of the first and Mason Hansen scored while the catcher attempted to get Harris out, giving Evangel the lead, 1-0.

Peru State took the lead in the bottom of the second when the Bobcats scored on a two-run home run to lead, 2-1.

The Bobcats tacked on another two runs in the bottom of the third on two base hits to lead 4-1.

Dylan Blehm hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth to narrow the deficit to just two runs, but Peru's pitching shut down the Valor offense, giving the home team the win, 4-2.

In game two, Peru State took a quick two run lead thanks to their efficient batting in the bottom of the first.

Evangel had several opportunities with runners in scoring position, but could not get them across home plate, resulting in being shut out, 4-0.
