SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Baseball capped off their penultimate weekend doubleheader against Park on Sunday on a perfect day for baseball. In game one, Austin Dill shut down Park's offense that had been dominant all weekend to push EU to the 7-2 victory. In game two, Park used late game offense to run away with the game and series, 14-7.

In game two, both teams were hot on offense. Although Evangel recorded 11 hits, the Valor bullpen could not slow down Park, resulting in a 14-7 loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED

On a very windy day, Park kicked off scoring in game one with a two run homer to left field, their only runs of the first game.

On the first at bat of the bottom of the second, Dalton Cook blasted a solo home run to center field, narrowing the Valor deficit to just one run, 2-1.

Evangel continued their strong inning in the second when Grant Kosanke walked and scored on a Kale Hynes triple. Hynes scored on a Park error after Nathan Lamb hit the ball to short. Mason Hansen walked to put two runners on base and Athanie Leeviraphan quickly cleared the bases on a big fly to left field, giving Evangel a 6-2 lead.

The Valor tacked on an insurance run in the fourth as Hansen scored on an error on the Park second baseman, capping off the 7-2 Evangel victory as Dill completed the complete game victory.

Park kicked off game two with a run in the first on a Valor error, giving the Pirates an early lead.

Evangel tied the ballgame in the third when Lamb homered to left field.

Neither team scored another run until the fifth inning, when Park used their half inning to push across three runs.

The Valor countered the Pirates in their half of the fifth, scoring Gage Harris on a Leeviraphan single. Leeviraphan later scored on a Hansen fielder's choice, giving Evangel just a one run deficit.

Park used a big sixth inning to extend their lead to seven runs by scoring six runs on three hits and two Evangel errors.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, Leeviraphan was hit by a pitch, scoring a run for EU. Noah Suiter singled to score both Hansen and Harris. Cook scored the final Evangel run of game two on a sacrifice fly, sending Leeviraphan home for EU's seventh run of the game.

Park added another four runs in the final inning and shut down the Valor bats in the seventh, giving the Pirates the series and the ballgame, 14-7.
NOTABLE

Levi Loughridge recorded his first collegiate base hit in the seventh inning of game two when he doubled to right field.

Leeviraphan recorded five RBIs throughout both games on Sunday, good for his 34th RBI of the season.

Dill recorded his sixth win of the season on Sunday, good for his 19th career win on the mound.
