DUBUQUE, Iowa – A cold second half saw the Evangel men's basketball team fall 95-71 at Clarke University on Saturday afternoon in Heart Conference action.

The Crusaders dropped back to .500 in league play at 5-5 and 9-7 overall, while Clarke improved to 11-6 overall and 7-4 in the Heart.

Clarke jumped out to a brief early lead in the first half until a three-pointer from Clarke Brewington gave the Crusaders a one-point lead. The Pride would answer but never pull away in the first half taking just a three-point advantage into halftime, 40-37.

However, the second half was all Clarke.

The home team shot 64 percent from the field while holding the Crusaders to 36 percent shooting. Evangel entered averaging 85 points per game and was held to 14 points below that average on Saturday.

Josh Pritchett came off the bench to lead Evangel with 20 points and seven boards, as the Crusaders struggled from behind the three-point line knocking down just four threes.

Cade Coffman and Edriel Martinborough also finished in double figures with 13 and 12 points respectively.

Darius Lasley led Clarke with 19 points, seven boards and six steals from the reigning Heart Conference Player of the Week.

Evangel continues road action on Wednesday at third-place MidAmerica Nazarene. Tipoff from Olathe, Kansas is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
