ATCHISON, Kan. – The Evangel men's basketball team was unable to overcome a slow start Wednesday night falling 78-65 at Benedictine in Heart Conference action.

The Crusaders came out in the second half on a 15-2 run to cut the Raven lead to eight points at the 12-minute mark. A three-pointer by Cade Coffman started the rally as the sophomore finished with a game-high 20 points while going 4 of 6 from behind the three-point line.

Evangel shot 54 percent in the second half while holding Benedictine to 38 percent from the field. The Ravens out-rebounded the Crusaders 31-24 and outscored Evangel 44-22 in the paint.

Nate Davis joined Coffman in double figures with 10 points and four assists.

Benedictine was led by Jaiden Bristol who scored 15 and pulled down eight rebounds.
