OLATHE, Kan. – The Evangel men's golf team concluded its 2021 fall schedule with a fourth-place finish at the Baker Wildcat Match Play Championship after coming up on the short end of a playoff against Central Baptist on the final day of play at Prairie Highlands Golf Club.
Reagan Streck (2&1) and Logan Smith (5&4) led Evangel with wins in their respective matches, while CBC used 1UP victories by Jakub Slapal and Ethan Williams to even out the matchup.
EU posted a strong opening-match performance Monday, defeating the Missouri Baptist JV squad, 3.5-1.5. Wins by Streck, Smith and Luke Morris paved the way in Round 1, before the Valor dropped its second-round matchup with the MBU varsity (4-1).
