GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Valor Men's Golf team competed in the Carey Collegiate Classic on Monday and Tuesday in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Facing off against stiff competition in which two teams competing were ranked in the last NAIA national poll, it was Reagan Streck (81-73-75--229) who led EU with his tied for 20th place finish. Evangel finished the two-day, 36-round classic in ninth place, beating out Mississippi University for Women and Bryan College.
Jake Brown finished tied for 34th with a final overall score of 240. Brown improved by five strokes after each round, helping Evangel finish with a better overall score. Taton Hopkins had a round two low of 76 to help finish in the top 40 golfers.
Both Logan Smith (247) and Jaron Phipps (251) finished in the top 50 on Tuesday, rounding out the team finishes.
