NIXA, Mo. – After claiming a first place overall finish at the Evangel Fall Invitational, the Valor Men's Golf team took part in the Evangel Fremont Challenge at the Fremont Hills Country Club. Cold weather and strong winds proved difficult to play through, but the men rallied, claiming a third place overall finish.
Taton Hopkins used a consistent two days of play to lead Evangel with a score of a +4, good for a second place finish. Hopkins was followed closely by Reagan Streck who finished in fourth place with a +6 score after improving his day two score by two strokes.
Thomas Bolin (+17) had an exceptional day two at the Fremont Challenge, improving his overall score by five strokes from day one to day two, putting him in 13th place overall. Dylan Sitze (+20) and Brock Wunstell (+24) rounded out scoring for Evangel's "A" team, finishing tied for 15th and 23rd, respectively.
Evangel's "B" team competed very well on Monday and Tuesday, placing fourth overall. Kelby Day (+16) and Gage Harris (+19) led the charge for the team, finishing tied for 11th and 14th overall.
