Valor Men's Soccer Announces Fall Schedule

Valor Men's Soccer Announces Fall Schedule

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Head men's soccer coach Kyle Beard announced a 17-game schedule for his first season leading the Valor in the 2022 season.

The 2022 slate includes seven home games and five matchups against NAIA schools that were either top-25 finishers or receiving votes to end the previous season.

Evangel kicks off its schedule with a tough home opening matchup against a good John Brown team (Aug. 20). The Valor will then play their first road game of the season against the Owls of William Woods (Aug. 29).

EU continues their non-conference road trip against Saint Mary (Sept. 2), Harris-Stowe State (Sept. 6), and Freed-Hardeman (Sept. 10), before heading back home 4 days later to take on #6 Missouri Valley in their home conference opener. Evangel continues the month of September with a road matchup with Benedictine (Sept. 17) and then returns home for a pair of home games against Baker (Sept. 21) and RV William Penn (Sept. 24). The Valor conclude the month with a road matchup against the third ranked team in the nation in Central Methodist (Sept. 28).

October kicks off with back to back road games for Evangel, first against the Wildcats of Culver-Stockton (Oct. 1) and then against MidAmerica Nazarene, the eighth ranked team in the nation (Oct. 4). The Valor return home, hosting the Vikings of Grand View (Oct. 8), who were named the #25 team in the nation, following last season. EU will then face Clarke in their penultimate home game of the season (Oct. 15). To wrap up the month of October, Evangel will hit the road, taking on the Pirates of Park (Oct. 19) and the Mustangs of Mount Mercy (Oct. 22), before returning home to honor their seniors on homecoming in the regular season finale against Graceland (Oct. 28).

"We are really excited about the upcoming season. We had a great spring season with the core team developing strong chemistry and becoming very competitive. We finished our spring with a draw vs a very competitive NCAA D-II program. Our guys really stepped into the challenges I set before them and embraced how hard they would have to work to become the team they wanted to be," Head Coach Kyle Beard stated. "To add to our excitement, recruiting has gone well, adding key players that will help us be very competitive this fall. Our non-conference schedule will be a good preparation for us to get ready to play in the #1 rated men's soccer conference in the NAIA. It's an exciting time to be an Evangel men's soccer player."

All home games will be played at Coryell Field on the campus of Evangel University. There is no charge for admission for home soccer games and all home games can be streamed on the Heart Conference Network. Links to keep up with the team on gamedays will be provided on Facebook and Twitter.
