Event: Pitt State Indoor Gorilla Classic
Location: Pittsburg, Kan.
PITTSBURG, Kan. – Evangel Track and Field competed in the Pitt State Indoor Gorilla Classic on Friday and Saturday. William Boivin, Matthew Kellerstrass, Delaney Weimer, Ariana Cruz, and Jacob Gillies were the only five members to compete in their respective events.
All five Valor athletes hit PR marks on Friday with Weimer and Boivin competing in Prelims on Saturday as well.
Highlights

Boivin qualified for nationals in his first run on Friday in the 60 meter hurdles, running a PR time of 8.25 seconds. On Saturday, Boivin ran an 8.38 second mark in his event.

Weimer ran a PR time of 7.78 seconds in the 60 meter dash on Friday, and then smashed it in her prelim run on Saturday with a mark of 7.73 seconds.

Cruz PR'ed in the 600 yard run on Friday with a time of 1:35.11.

Kellerstrass ran a 60 meter dash time of 6.95, good for his PR.

Gillies rounded out all Valor athletes, hitting a PR in the high jump of 1.91 meters.
UP NEXT
Evangel will compete with a full team in the Heart of America Indoor Track Championship on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 18/19). Track events will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday with Field events to take place on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
