MARYVILLE, Mo. – Evangel Track and Field competed in the Heart of America Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday. Looking to hit PR's and qualify for nationals, the Valor fought hard and competed well.
Delaney Weimer highlighted the women's team accolades, placing second overall in the 60 meter dash. Jacob Gillies highlighted the men's team by placing third in the high jump and qualifying for nationals.
Highlights

Weimer ran a time of 7.73 and placed second overall in the 60 meter dash on Saturday. Weimer also placed 4th in the 200 meter dash with a mark of 25.92 seconds.

Gillies placed third with a high jump of 2.01 meters on Saturday, qualifying for Nationals with his jump.

Joseph Sylvester PR'ed in the pole vault with a jump of 3.90m, placing fourth on Saturday.

Nash Grantham hit a mark of 1.86 meters in the high jump, placing fourth.

Matthew Kellerstrass ran a time of 6.95 in the 60 meter dash, placing 5th overall.

William Boivin placed 6th in the 60 meter hurdles on Saturday.

In the Men's Distance Medley, Eric Patterson, Tyler White, Campbell Nichols, and Evan Espinoza placed 6th, running a time of 10:58.85.

Skylar Adams ran a time of 5:31.80 in the mile run, placing 7th overall.

In the Men's 4x800 relay, Graham Miller, Eric Patterson, Evan Espinoza, and Campbell Nichols placed 9th, with a time of 8:19.90.

Rounding out top 10 finishers, the Men's 4x400 meter relay team placed 10th with a time of 3:32.51. (Jared Spence, Campbell Nichols, Tyler White, Nate Swofford).
- Ariana Cruz and Abigail Good both record PR marks in their respective events.
UP NEXT
Evangel Track and Field will take Delaney Weimer, William Boivin, and Jacob Gillies to South Dakota State University to compete in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships on March 3rd through 5th. Events will take place in Brookings, South Dakota at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
