BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Evangel track and field teams were led by their middle distance again at the 2018 Heart Conference Championships and highlighted by Shane Burns winning the 1500-meters.

News & Notes

- Shane Burns was the lone conference champion for Evangel winning the 1500-meters. Burns nearly bested his own school record set earlier this season with a time of 4:02.25.

- Matt McHenry finished second in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:45.76. McHenry raced to a personal best and the second-best time in school history.

- Jonathan Dasal finished second in the 800-meters earning a time of 1:55.88, besting his previous best time two seconds.

- Madison Proben earned a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.08, a personal best.

- Allison Newport earned a fourth-place finish in the javelin with a mark of 121' 5" (37.00m).
