FAYETTE, Mo. — The Evangel softball team struggled against North Division leader Central Methodist on Friday falling 2-0 in game one and 12-0 in the second game.

Game 1

Central Methodist jumped on the board early with a solo home run in the first inning. From there both pitchers settled in as both teams were held scoreless through the next four innings.

However, Eagles pitcher Ashley Wills out dueled Bridget Rippe in a no-hit shutout of the Crusaders. Rippe allowed just two runs but the offense was unable to earn a hit for Evangel in the loss as Rippe also struck out eight.

Evangel worked three walks as their only base runners in the loss.

Game 2

The second game was all Central Methodist as Evangel was again held hitless in a 12-0 loss.

The Eagles scored four runs in each of the first three innings to build a 12-0 lead. Josie Allcock pitched the final 1.1 innings allowing just one hit and no runs for Evangel out of the bullpen.

Evangel hitters walked four times but struck out seven in the second game of a CMU sweep.
