SPRINGFIELD, MO. – Evangel softball rallies in both games to complete the sweep over Park.

Game One
Evangel started game one with a bang off the bat of Josie Allcock who homered to left field in the bottom of the first to get the Crusaders on the board. The Pirates would tie the game in the fourth on an error on Ashlie Marshall in centerfield.

After Allcock's homerun, Park held the Evangel bats relatively quiet until the fifth inning when they loaded the bases off a Kami Holt single, an intentional walk to Allcock, and Marissa Lokey drew a walk. Then AJ Carpenter singled to drive in one. Anah Noble followed it up with an RBI single of her own, then Taylor Mathis drew a bases-loaded walk to give the Crusaders three runs in the inning.

Josie Allcock went 2-2 with a home run.

Bridget Rippe pitched a complete game and got the win. She gave up one unearned run, two hits, walked three and struck out five.

Game Two
In game two, Evangel really had to dig deep to complete the rally over the Pirates. Park came out swinging early, as they plated two off Rippe in the first inning. The Crusaders would respond in the third as they plated two off their own as Allcock hit an RBI double and Lokey followed with an RBI single down the left field line.

The Pirates would take a one run lead in the fourth, and once again the Crusaders responded in the fifth with a run of their own. Again, it was Lokey with an RBI single.

The Crusaders would take the lead for good in the sixth when they scored three. With two runners on and two outs, Holt tripled to deep left-center, then she came around to score on a wild pitch during the next at bat.

Bridget Rippe got the start and pitched 5 innings in a no-decision. She gave up three runs off four hits while walking two. Abby Jo Emmitt pitched two-thirds of an inning in relief and gave up one run off one hit, while walking three and striking out two. Samantha Romano pitched 1.1 innings and got the win. She gave up one hit and one walk in her appearance.
