CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – After winning three consecutive elimination games, Evangel needed to take down the NAIA ranked #9 team in the nation in Central Methodist to advance to the Championship match. Although Evangel fought hard, fatigue caught up to the Valor as they fell, 6-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

CMU scored two runs in the third inning and broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth when they scored four runs to take a 6-0 lead.

Evangel could not muster much of any offense, putting just four runners on base.

In the top of the sixth, Russell hit a single up the middle, but a following foul out left her stranded.

The Eagles closed the door on Evangel in the seventh, not allowing a single base runner in a three up, three down inning.
