Three Crusaders Earn All-Heart Honors for Evangel Women's Basketball

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A trio of Crusaders was honored by the Heart of America Athletic Conference led by Evangel women's basketball junior Lexie Vaught as announced by the league office Monday.

Vaught was named All-Heart First Team and was joined by senior Mackenzie Farmer and freshman Brianna Vogts who each was named Honorable Mention.

Vaught led the Heart in steals and currently ranks third in NAIA with 4.2 steals per game and her 110 total steals rank fourth most in a single season at Evangel. The Crane, Missouri native leads the Crusaders with 16.1 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game, both marks that rank in the top 10 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Farmer is the third leading scorer for Evangel with 10.6 points per game and and leads the team with 3.2 assists per contest. Vogts enters postseason averaging 10.8 points per game and is second at 6.5 boards per game.

Evangel enters Wednesday's game at 19-10 overall marking a turnaround from last season's five wins. The Crusaders sit as the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 Clarke at 5:30 p.m.
