SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel women's basketball team hits the road to take on the Statesmen of William Penn in a Saturday midday matchup.

Evangel is led by sophomore Brianna Vogts and senior Lexie Vaught (Crane, Mo.). Vogts leads the Crusaders at 14.5 points per game, while Vaught is averaging 13.0 per game and the team's leading rebounder at 8.6 boards per game. Freshman Sadie Chisum leads the team in assists (5.75 apg).

A tough non-conference schedule has seen the Crusaders play two of the nation's best to a four-point game and a three-point game in overtime. The overtime loss to MidAmerica Christian stood out, even more, when the Lady Evangels knocked off NCAADivision I North Texas, 61-59.

The Crusaders have posted big second halves in their games of the season. In the second half, Evangel is outscoring its opponents by 42 points so far this season.

The Crusaders are ranked No. 18 in the NAIA in Blocks per game (3.50) and No. 14 Assist/Turnover Ratio (1.154).

The Crusaders are receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coach's Poll released on Dec. 4.
LOOKING AHEAD
Evangel returns home on Thursday, Dec. 12 to take on College of the Ozarks in the HWY 65 Showdown. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
