SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Evangel University senior Lexie Vaught was named NAIA All-American on Thursday for a second consecutive season as announced by the organization.
Vaught earned Honorable Mention honors for a second consecutive season as she finished seventh nationally in steals and averaged 3.5 steals per game to finish ninth in the NAIA. She led Evangel in every category averaging 13.1 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game, while her 4.2 assists per game and 131 total assists ranked in the top 25 nationally as well.
The Crane, Missouri native is just the third Crusader to be a multiple All-American during the NAIA Division I era joining Ashlee Luko (2009, 2010, 2011) and Allison Swanson (2014, 2015).
In just two seasons at evangel, Vaught recorded 222 steals ranking her sixth all-time at Evangel. She finished with 844 total points and helped the Crusaders earn their first postseason berth since the 2011 season reaching the NAIA National Tournament.
