Amber Ellis Earns Scholar All-Region Accolades

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Evangel University senior Amber Ellis was named to the United Soccer Coaches Women's Scholar All-Region Team on Monday for her hard work in the classroom and on the field.

Ellis earned her first honor through the United Soccer Coaches after post a 3.99 GPA. To earn a spot on the Scholar All-Region Team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and start more than 50 percent of all games and be an elite player on their team.  

A senior from Gentry, Ark., she was named All-Heart Third Team after finishing with six goals and three assists.

Those meeting the criteria will be considered by the committee for one of the Scholar All-America teams. The committee reviews both the academic and athletic accomplishments of the nominees. United Soccer Coaches Scholar-Athletes of the Year for men and women are selected by a national selection committee from all levels of the Scholar All-America program.
