Valor Women's Soccer Announces Fall Schedule

Valor Women's Soccer Announces Fall Schedule

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Head women's soccer coach Bruce Deaton announced an 18-game schedule for his eighth season leading the Valor in the 2022 season.

The 2022 schedule includes nine home games and four matchups against NAIA schools that were either top-25 finishers or receiving votes to end the previous season.

Evangel kicks off its schedule with a tough home opening matchup against the eleventh ranked team in the nation, John Brown (Aug. 20). The Valor will hit the road for their first game on the road against Stephens College (Aug. 24). Rounding out the month of August, Evangel will take on Missouri Baptist at home (Aug. 30).

EU will hit the road to take on Saint Mary (Sept. 2) before returning home to take on NCCAA Ecclesia College (Sept. 6). The Valor will play their final non-conference game of the season on the road against Freed-Hardeman on Sept. 10. Evangel will kick off their conference slate at home against #21 Missouri Valley (Sept. 14), followed by a road matchup with #22 Benedictine (Sept. 17). The Valor will return home for a pair of matchups with Baker (Sept. 21) and William Penn (Sept. 24). EU will finish off the month of September with a tough matchup against Central Methodist (Sept. 28), the #3 team in the nation.

October kicks off with back to back road games for Evangel, first against the Wildcats of Culver-Stockton (Oct. 1) and then against the Pioneers of MidAmerica Nazarene (Oct. 4). The Valor return home, hosting the Vikings of Grand View (Oct. 8) and the Pride of Clarke in their penultimate home game of the season (Oct. 15). To wrap up the month of October, Evangel will hit the road, taking on the Pirates of Park (Oct. 19) and the Mustangs of Mount Mercy (Oct. 22), before returning home to honor their seniors on homecoming in the regular season finale against Graceland (Oct. 28).

"I am excited for our final season in the Heart of America Conference. Our non-conference schedule will help prepare us for our conference matchups this year," Head Coach Bruce Deaton stated. "I am excited to start our season against a top fifteen opponent in John Brown University as well as other very strong matches. Given the players returning and the strength of our recruiting class, I believe we will make a strong run in our final go around in the Heart!"

All home games will be played at Coryell Field on the campus of Evangel University. There is no charge for admission for home soccer games and all home games can be streamed on the Heart Conference Network. Links to keep up with the team on gamedays will be provided on Facebook and Twitter.
