SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Women's Soccer took on the Statesmen of William Penn on Saturday afternoon. WPU came out with a fast attack and grabbed an early lead they took to the finish, 5-0.

In the first five minutes of the match, William Penn scored a goal on a miscommunication between the Evangel defensive back line. The Valor nearly responded by evening the score when Dajah Boykin found two excellent scoring opportunities. The first shot hit off the right goal post and on the rebound Boykin shot an additional one that found the opposing goalie. The Statesmen added a second goal on a penalty shot at the 16 minute mark and by the time the first 45 had ended, WPU had accumulated a 4-0 lead.

The Valor did not struggle to put shots on goal in either half, but could not get the ball past the Statesmen goalkeeper. Grayson Murphy put a shot up at the 52 minute mark, but WPU scored an additional goal, their final of the match, just 35 seconds later. Evangel's defense was able to limit the Statesmen attack for the remainder of the match, but ultimately could not score the ball, falling 5-0.
