SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel women's tennis team notched their first victory of the 2022 season Friday afternoon, taking down the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, 6-1, at Cooper Tennis Complex.
Evangel claimed the doubles portion of the afternoon with an Ana Bjelica/Sarah Hutchison decision versus Emilia Gautier/Ainsley Fortnschneider (6-0). Abigail Chaney/Carly McAtee loss to Angela Meaurio/Erin Davis (6-3), while Neely Bridges and Alexia Phipps claimed a win due to forfeit.
Bjelica completed her flawless afternoon with a singles win against Meaurio (7-6, 6-1), while Chaney topped Davis (6-3, 6-1). Carly McAtee (8-3) took a win over Gautier, and finally Phipps defeated Fortnschneider (8-0).
