SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel women's tennis team dropped a close matchup on Saturday afternoon, falling to University of the Ozarks, 3-4.
Evangel took one in the doubles portion of the afternoon with an Ana Bjelica/Sarah Hutchison win versus Kaitlin Gutierrez/Annie Nelligan (6-0), but lost the point after losing two consecutive matches. The Valor fell in two other matches with a Abigail Chaney/Carly McAtee loss to Yadira Rodriguez/Tatum Hatridge (3-6) and Neely Bridges/Courtney Yates fell to Jessica Gayle/Anna Ryan (3-6)
Evangel fell in singles matchups as well on Saturday. Bjelica (6-0, 6-1), Chaney (6-2, 7-5), and Hutchison (7-5, 6-1) claimed victories for the Valor, as Alexia Phipps (2-6, 2-6), Bethany Overturf (2-6, 5-7), and McAtee (2-6, 1-6) fell in their respective matchups.

Evangel's men's tennis team will host Sterling College next Saturday (Mar. 12) at the Cooper Tennis Complex at 11:00 a.m.
